**Who we are**

**The Job**
- Manage group mailboxes and group telephone lines for incoming enquiries relating to wildlife seizures compliance
- Enter all seizures and allegations into the relevant databases
- Liaise with ABF on wildlife seizures, decision outcomes and disposals
- Make recommendations on seizures
- Refer seizures of complex matters to Assistant Director
- Action forfeited seized specimens’ disposals
- Maintain an audit record for specimens on loan to an institution or other government agency
- Undertake biannual audit of seized specimens and section records
- Conduct desktop assessments on cases and referrals received into the Wildlife Trade Seizures and Engagement Section
- Conduct background checks to determine recidivists or linked cases
- record any previous supporting documentation into pack
- Refer all new allegations to assistant director to distribute to assessment officers
- Refer allegations to relevant areas as required, under direction from supervisors
- Prepare education and compliance letters for less complex compliance matters
- Respond to person(s) who provide information/allegations as appropriate
- Liaise with industry stakeholders
- Prepare, send and receive all incoming mail/compliance letters, including recording relevant files into Spire
- Prepare reports as directed
- Update and maintain section procedure guides/work instructions

**Knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of, and experience in, administrative decision making.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook.

**Desirable qualifications**
Certificate IV in Government Investigations

**Eligibility and other requirements**

**Citizenship**
- To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.

**Security Clearance**
**- **This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
