Children's Health Queensland provides services from key locations in the Brisbane metropolitan area and works with the 15 other hospital and health services as well as NGOs and charity partners in Queensland to deliver an integrated network of healthcare services and support across the state.
**Your Opportunity**:
The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of Child and Youth Mental Health. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the managers, educators and wider health care team support the clinical unit in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of mental health nursing.
The Queensland Centre for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health has developed in collaboration with Adult perinatal mental health and child health services a six-week, one day per week, group day program, implemented throughout Queensland, for women in the perinatal period who are experiencing moderate to severe perinatal mental health issues, including perinatal anxiety and/or depression. The program is called Together in Mind (TiM) and brings together the expertise of an adult mental health clinician, an infant mental health clinician, and child health nurse, to provide psychoeducation and therapeutic support for mothers and their babies. TiM was developed and researched within 12 Queensland Health Hospital and Health Services and QCPIMH conducted the program development, research and coordinated the implementation of TiM state-wide over the past 7 years. The TiM Coordinator role will continue the development of TiM to ensure its sustainability, train clinicians to facilitate TiM, and to coordinate and report on the day program state-wide. A willingness and capacity to travel within Queensland to support the development of TiM programs.
