WSP Australia is seeking a skilled and experienced
Senior Electrical Engineer
to join our
Brisbane Building Services
team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will contribute to a range of exciting projects across a range of sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile projects, demonstrate leadership, and contribute to the continued success and growth of our business.

About The Role
As a
Senior Electrical Engineer
, you will provide expertise in electrical design for both single and multi-disciplinary projects. Your role will involve leading small to medium-sized design projects, ensuring best practice delivery while managing costs and timelines, and developing strong relationships with clients. We are currently working on major projects in
transport, defence, civic infrastructure
as well as small to medium sized projects in a range of other sectors. This role is also an opportunity to drive the development of our Building Services team and contribute to the achievement of our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical Design Expertise: Provide electrical design leadership on both single and multi-disciplinary projects, across a broad range of sectors.
  • Project Leadership: Lead small and medium-sized engineering design projects and support larger, more complex projects to ensure effective and efficient delivery.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with external clients and authorities, as well as internal colleagues and managers, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
  • Best Practices and Cost Optimization: Deliver best practices to achieve optimal outcomes for clients, focusing on saving time and reducing costs without compromising on quality.
  • Client Relationship Development: Build solid, long-term relationships with clients, identifying new business development opportunities and understanding their evolving needs.
  • Business Unit Development: Contribute to the development and growth of the business unit by supporting strategic goals and initiatives aimed at enhancing overall success.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering;
  • Strong expertise in electrical building services engineering and design documentation;
  • 6 to 10+ years' industry experience on Australian building services projects, ideally in a consulting environment;
  • Well versed in effectively delivering multiple, concurrent projects ranging and scale and sector - experience on rail/ train station projects will be highly regarded.
  • Strong client relationship management and project management skills;
  • Capacity to lead, train and mentor junior engineers across technical and project delivery aspects;
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills;
  • Sound working knowledge of relevant Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3000, NCC etc.);
  • Understanding of BIM, NavisWorks and Revit MEP (advantageous).
  • Ability to drive business development and recognize new opportunities for growth.
  • A proactive approach to client service, team collaboration, and problem-solving.
