**About the role**:
The Mitchell Operations Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the daily operations and leading the team at the resource management centre. The position is required to ensure efficiency and ensure safety of the public and our employees.

The Supervisor will be required to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the RMC, including the management of site traffic movements and assisting customers with separating waste and recyclables, in order to achieve the goal of high levels of waste diversion from landfill. The role will be responsible for a team of staff and undertake administration duties and reporting as required.

**You will have the following responsibilities**:

- Monitor the effective operation of the RMC by providing direction, on the job training, guidance and establishing safe work practices, rosters and procedures to meet the needs of the facilities.
- Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of sound risk management processes.
- Responsible for the supervision of employees and relevant contractors.
- Ensure compliance with Municipal policies and procedures and Occupational Health & Safety regulations
- Accountable for the efficient and timely operations and work practices of the centre.
- Ensure the centre is in a clean and safe operational state
- Coordinate load materials for contractor collections
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate repairs and maintenance are undertaken at the facility
- Maintain work rosters as required, timesheet submission (KRONOS),
- Identify hazards and implement necessary procedures to remediate the hazard
- Explain disposal procedures to customers to ensure correct unloading of materials and minimise mingling of waste.

**Who you are**:

- Previous experience in a similar role which demonstrates a clear understanding and capacity to undertake the key job requirements.
- Team player, willing to pitch in, support and help when required.
- Route scheduling (preferred)
- Operational capability within waste or heavy industry
- Ability to drive and improve processes and procedures.
- Heavy machinery experience is a must
- Excellent verbal, written communication, coupled with organisational skills.
- Understanding of clients’ requirements
- Influencing and negotiating skills
- Experience driving HR or MC preferred.
- HR licence desired
