Dean & Ling Executive are proud to partner with ARTC Inland Rail for this once-in-a-generation project and are seeking expressions of interest from project Planners to work on this exciting project.
Inland Rail (IR) is a 1,700km fast freight backbone, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane that will transform how goods are moved around Australia, better linking business, manufacturers, and producers to national and global markets.
The role of Planner is to support the coordination and administration of the schedules to ensure timely completion within the required specifications, schedule and budgets, facilitating the integration of the project’s schedules within the overall Program schedule.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide planning and scheduling services to the assigned group or project to determine the mobilisation dates of the Projects, separable portions, and Work packages.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning and scheduling policies and processes.
- Support options assessment and schedule refinement with detailed analysis from communication and facilitation with government agencies to gather information.
- Planning easement agreements, Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act, Environment Protection Act (EPA) and Development Application (DA) processes.
- Identify resourcing required for the work and provision of impact assessments based on varying schedule options.
- Produce and evaluate work group requirements in a multi-disciplinary rail environment, considering stakeholder requirements, access, resource, and asset constraints, and provide sound advice on project options.
- Review and critique schedules from third parties and integrate these into the overall project schedule.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to communicate the needs for rescheduling of their resources to achieve optimal resource loading.
- Identify timescale opportunities/threats to the project and liaise with the appropriate members of the project team to achieve ‘best for project’ outcomes.
**About You**
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Extensive project planning experience including 3+ years’ experience in planning roles on heavy construction projects and proven experience in planning roles on major infrastructure projects.
- Strong client-side experience, commercial acumen and ability to manage sub-contractor schedules.
- Advanced knowledge and experience using Primavera P6 planning tools, cost and resource loaded schedules, Earned Value Management systems and forensic analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
