An exciting opportunity exists for a Principal Environmental Sustainability Officer who is responsible for leading and managing Sunshine Coast Health's (SCH) environmental governance and compliance, promoting public and environmental health, and ensuring the SCH is resilient to climate change. The role will manage the implementation of sustainability measures in line with Federal, State Government and Queensland Health requirements.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

**Key Responsibilities include**:
Leading the HHS in achieving recognition as an environmentally sustainable organisation by managing strategies and initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Fostering a climate-resilient health system and promoting planetary health.
Lead the development and implementation of the HHS plans and strategies aimed at bolstering the environmental sustainability of its operations, focusing on emissions reduction and optimising resource usage, while ensuring alignment with the Department of Health's Climate Risk Strategy and Queensland's comprehensive government-wide strategies.
Lead the HHS's understanding of the impacts of climate change in the health service operations and identifying measures to help mitigate and adapt to climate change.
