Join our dynamic team at the Planning Services division within the Planning Group be a part of the South East Queensland North team based in Maroochydore. As a Principal Planning Officer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering customer-focused, high-quality planning and development outcomes for both current and future Queensland communities. Your responsibilities will include providing technical expertise, implementing planning and development best practices, and contributing to regional development through statutory and strategic land use planning services.

Key responsibilities:

- Work in a regionally based planning team, assisting with the delivery of State Assessment and Referral Agency (SARA) and best practice planning agenda.
- Lead and support urban and regional planning projects.
- Assist with effective state agency participation in whole-of-Government matters of state or regional significance in local government plans and land use planning processes.
- Represent the department, as appropriate, at industry/stakeholders events, meetings and working groups in an effective and professional manner
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, delivering clear and direct briefings on complex planning matters to executive leadership teams, and perform additional tasks as required by the Manager and team members.
- You build and manage productive working relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders
- Actively contribute to fostering a team environment and positive culture, where team members enjoy coming to work, are appropriately skilled and challenged, and understand the contributions their role plays in the success of business outcome.
