Library Support Officer role within the Public Sector

Our client is one of the largest councils in Australia, which provides community services and facilities for a growing population. They are looking to engage a Library Support Officer. This is a temporary contract and the role is based in the South of Brisbane.

**Your new role**
- To assist the Regional Librarian/ Digital Services Librarian in the provision of consistently exceptional customer service to library customers.
- Contribute to the delivery of library services by undertaking various routine tasks including customer service, shelving and the checking in and out of library items as outlined in the Award.
- Undertake general library administrative duties to support customer service by assisting with membership, bookings, reservations, collection lists, item repairs and answering routine phone enquiries.
- Depending on operational requirements, varying rosters and hours will apply, including Saturday work and some evening work up to 8pm Tuesdays or Thursdays.
- Casual Library Support Officers are employed on a casual day-to-day basis and will be required to work a variable spread of hours (up to a maximum of 36.25 hours per week), Monday to Saturday as required to meet operational need.
- Library staff may be required to rotate within the branch to work within other libraries to enable the Council to meet its operational requirements in those libraries.
