**Position Information**: Fairfield Public School is located in the heart of the Fairfield Central Business District. The school's current student enrolment is 450 students. Students come from diverse cultural and language backgrounds, with 95% from language backgrounds other than English. Approximately 40% of the school's enrolments are refugee students, many of whom have a background of trauma and limited prior educational experiences. Students are supported through additional staffing and extensive resourcing. The school provides a wide range of academic and extra-curricular programs aimed at developing the 'whole child'. These programs include Community Languages, community and multicultural events, creative arts opportunities, debating and various sporting activities. The school is well resourced in a variety of technologies to facilitate student learning. The school community shares a commitment to provide excellence and equity for all with a high level of trust in the school, the staff and its procedures and practices. Our multicultural community is valued and their language, academic and cultural needs are incorporated into all school plans and programs. **Selection Criteria**: In addition to the general selection criteria, Approval to teach infants and/or primary with a capacity to lead initiatives within the School Improvement Plan utilising strategic skills to progress schoolwide literacy and numeracy priorities through effective collaboration while managing the complexities of a dual teaching and leadership role. Proven capacity to inspire, mentor and lead both early career teachers and experienced staff in pursuit of achieving a culture of continuous improvement and collegiality. Demonstrated ability to understand internal and external student data and utilise the data to determine focus areas to effectively lead stage planning to improve student achievement. Capacity to propose, plan, and implement specific school programs that promote wellbeing and community engagement. **General Selection Criteria**: 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice - 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6.
