Client Engagement Officer

Job Type: 12 month maternity leave cover (Immediate start)

**Must be willing and able to travel various locations.**

**Salary: $31.00 - $45.00 /hour**

**Experience**:

- Must have previous Mental Health experience and a genuine desire to help others. (required)
- Must have experienced with mature aged participants. (required)
- Must have Covid vaccination
- Disability Support Worker: 1 year (required)

**Education**:

- **Certificate III in Disabilities/Individual Support or Similar is essential**

Licence:

**About Be Social Services**:
Be Social Services (BSS) are a registered NDIS provider and are constantly on the lookout for motivated and experienced Disability Support Workers.

**Your role**:
As a Client Engagement Officer, you will be required to work with our clients in their homes and in the community. We encourage our clients to seek new opportunities and experiences, especially those that challenge them.

You will support our clients to access group-based activities or one-to-one mentoring activities that meet their needs. Our service delivery is flexible and can be tailored to whichever day of the week or time of day is most suitable for our clients. You will also possess experience in managing challenging behaviours in social settings, as well as managing personal care and meal-time requirements. You will also be part of the BSS Management Team assisting with day to day operations of the business, training will be provided.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assisting with activities of daily living (ADL)
- Maintain and monitor person-centered plans
- Documenting and progress note keeping
- Promoting community participation & healthy choices eg. grocery shopping
- Assist in the the development of social capital for participants
- Enabling access to community services and transport
- Liaising with key stakeholders about participants goals and plans
- Supporting the BSS Management team oversee the daily operations of the business

**Desirable criteria**:
Knowledge of NDIS and a person-centred approach, psychosocial disabilities, autism, epilepsy, therapeutic supports, manual handling, and assisting with challenging behaviours.

- Over 1 year paid experience supporting clients with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
- National Police Check (dated within 12 months)
- Working with children check
- Unrestricted Australian Drivers License and a reliable insured vehicle ( some shifts may involve community access)
- Certificate III in Disabilities/Individual Support
- Experience supporting people with Disability and Mental health
- Experience working with clients with Autism and/or challenging behaviours will be highly regarded
- Ability and willingness to work a variety of shifts
- Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible rotating roster that includes days, evenings, weekends, and overnights.
- Have a genuine passion to care and engage with participants.
