B2A are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations.

**Project Description**:
Inland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network - better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.
The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along approximately 305 kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is staged in two tranches. Tranche 1 includes enhancement works across four sites and corridor wide works.
Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla.
**Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;**:
Overall responsibility for the role on this high-profile major project includes:
- Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments in accordance with company policies.
- Perform regular reconciliations of supplier statements and accounts.
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and queries from suppliers.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions in the accounting system.
- Prepare payment runs, including EFTs and other payment methods.
- Assist in month-end processes, including accruals and reporting.
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Identify process improvement opportunities within the accounts payable function.
**To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;**:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role (experience in [industry/sector] is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in [specific accounting software, e.g., MYOB, SAP, Xero, or similar] and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive and problem-solving mindset to handle challenges effectively.
- Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
