**About the role**:
Reporting to the Plant Engineer, a full time opportunity currently exists for a Skilled Mechanical Fitter to ensure the availability, reliability and capability of plant assets in a beef and lamb processing operation. This is a full time position with the potential to earn $60,000 - $80,000 or more with additional allowances and/or overtime. Salary is paid according to organisational EBA-Industrial Agreement.

**Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)**:

- Ensure maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance
- Engage in making, fitting or repairing mechanical machines, instruments or appliance to ensure equipment and facilities are in optimum condition for their intended use
- Ensure that all mechanical work is carried out to meet the Company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations
- Demonstrated ability to identify faults with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems
- Other responsibilities that may come up, such as working on projects.

**About you**:

- Mechanical trade qualifications and post-trade experience of a minimum of 2 years
- Experience in maintenance and repair in a fast paced manufacturing environment
- Understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures
- Thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices
- Sound computer skills
- Effective and efficient fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of WHS regulations/procedures
- Confined Space and BA Competence highly desired
- Available to work weekends, afternoon, day and night shifts.
