North Melbourne, Australia BDK Labour Hire Pty Ltd Full time

**BDK Labour Hire **is looking for a hard-working and skilled fitter to fit, and assemble the structural components of crane mechanical systems for one of the top crane manufacturers in Australia. The job is located in Thomastown.

**Responsibilities**:

- Keeping accurate records of all maintenance work done, repairing malfunctioning mechanical systems
- Evening out any rough spots on the fabricated components using grinders, hand files, and scrapers.
- Analyzing the blueprints for mechanical systems to determine the specifications of the components to be constructed.
- Inspecting fabricated components to ensure that they are the correct size.
- Creating a suitable maintenance schedule and performing system maintenance accordingly.
- Conducting diagnostic testing on malfunctioning systems to determine the root cause of the malfunction.
- Replacing damaged or defective structural components as needed.
- Follow OHS company policies

**Requirements**:

- Appropriate VIC state certification.
- Proven experience working as a fitter mechanical
- At least 3 years of experience
- The ability to use hand and power tools
- The ability to interpret blueprints for mechanical systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills

Pay rate: 40$ p/h
- 38 hours per week + overtime if required_
- Monday to Thursday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm_
- Friday 7:00 am - 1:00 pm_
- Saturday 6:00 am - 2:00 pm (if required)_
