** About Us**

**CCV**
- The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 12,000 criminal, common law, and commercial cases each year. The County Court has unlimited monetary jurisdiction in common law and commercial matters. In its criminal jurisdiction, the Court hears all indictable offences except treason, murder, and related offences.
- There are a total of 80 Judges of the Court and over 300 staff, including judicial support staff. The County Court regularly conducts circuit sittings at 12 circuit courts situated in major centres throughout regional Victoria.

**About the Role**
- The Self-Represented Litigant Case Maager provides practical and procedural information and support (not legal advice) to self-represented litigants in navigating court procedures. You will assist self-represented litigants in understanding and complying with court rules and assist in referring individuals to external services and agencies for legal assistance.
- As a part of a close knit, supportive team, you will work closely with judiges, judicial registrars, division lawyers and the Common Law Registry team to support and actively manage proceedings involving self-represented litigants.
- You will lead initiatives to improve processes, information, and educational resources for self-represented litigants and expand access to justice. Together with registry managers and division lawyers, you will support, develop and build the capability of the Registry team to respond effetively to the needs of self-represented litigants.
- Duties will include:

- leading the development of systems to effectively manage the self-represented litigant demands for the division
- in consultation with operational managers and division lawyers, developing and delivering suitable training to build the capability of registrars to respond effectively to self-represented litigants
- maintaining and facilitating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, leveraging opportunities to improve access to justice
- leading continuous improvement initiatives including designing new ways of working which are evidence based and inform future service delivery approaches
- leading initiatives to improve information and educational resources for self-represented litigants, including the development of inclusive and accessible information and the enhanement of online services

- A degree in law or substantial experience working in a legal environment is highly desirable._
