
Landscape Assessment Officer

Liverpool City Council is positioned to lead its community through immense change over the next ten (10) years. City Presentation covers a geographical spread of over three hundred (300) kilometres squared and one thousand seven hundred and eighty-two (1,782) assets spread across 41 suburbs in the Local Government Area (LGA). The LGA will double in capacity over the coming five (5) to ten (10) years.
**The Opportunity**

- Landscaping plan assessments relating to Development Applications.
- Landscaping and horticulture related enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders regarding illegal tree removals.
**About You**
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Demonstrated experience in design review, detailed design, and construction of landscape projects of a range of sizes in complex, highly urbanised areas, and demonstrated ability to understand and integrate the advice of other relevant disciplines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practice in landscape design and construction in relation to sustainability, materials, buildability, compliance, detailing, safety and quality.
- Demonstrated experience in arboriculture/landscape in residential buildings, commercial and or institutional buildings, planting on structure and green roofs.
- High level written and oral communication skills, including the ability to conceive and communicate creative solutions to problems, clearly communicate complex issues in plain English, to interact with a broad range of stakeholders, disciplines, and staff, and negotiate on complex and sensitive issues and mediate disputes.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Diploma in horticulture, arboriculture or landscaping or related field and/or relevant experience in arboriculture/landscaping.
