Supply Planner

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Supply Planner who will manage the supply of inventory from our suppliers and ensure maximum possible service level to our customers.

**Description**:
About the Role

Reporting to the Supply & Demand Manager you will work closely with our demand planning, warehouse and logistics teams to manage the flow of inventory aiming to optimise our cost to serve and report to the business on the health of the assigned portfolio.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Manage the purchasing of inventory from our third party suppliers ensuring we have sufficient inventory to meet customer requirements.
- Provide suppliers with purchasing forecasts and receive communication and cooperation around issues that may impact supply
- Ensure individual supply chains for each supplier are configured in an optimum arrangement including stocking location, order frequency, minimum order size, logístical parameters etc.
- Manage introduction of new lines and suppliers into our range working with internal teams to determine best fit to supply chain
- Maintain some SKU level master data in the system to ensure data accuracy
- Proactively report on current and potential service level issues, potential product obsolescence to internal teams.
- Monitor customer service misses and projected stock outs while ensuring demand/supply teams are across root cause and actions
- Maintain customer service levels including collaborative planning with distributors and key customers
- Collaborate with suppliers to establish market intelligence and alliances that will lead to innovation of our brands and categories
- Liaise with internal, external and NPD stakeholders to support new and existing marketing and NPD plans
- Ensure effective liaison with all relevant stakeholders for development of new products through to launch

This role may develop into a dual Supply & Demand Planner role in the future.

**Skills and Experiences**:
Skills, Experience and Abilities
- Very strong experience in FMCG supply planning management
- Degree qualification in Commerce, Logistics, Science or Engineering or relevant equivalent experience
- A high level understanding of supply chain management processes and best practice
- Previous exposure in managing procurement and planning/capacity management.
- Experience in the development of supply chain strategies.
- Key stakeholder of a Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
- Experience in food production based warehousing is desirable
- Experience in the use of appropriate ERP system.
- Able to work within established routines, methods and procedures under very strict management parameters
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and influencing skills. In particular, the ability to advocate change and influence internal opinion.
- Highly numerate with the ability to understand data and to interpret it in a lateral manner.
- Ability to propose and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
- Diplomacy and tact in order to gain support at all levels in the business coupled with confidence, intelligence and business acumen skills to influence abilities and outcomes.
- Detail oriented with the ability to assess all options while thinking laterally
- An individual who is prepared to own a process and accept accountability for performance.
- Decisive, with the ability to make sound decisions, based on experience and good judgement.
- A pragmatic person, capable of interacting successfully at all levels of the organisation.
