Design and Technology Teacher

**Reports to**: Head of Department - Design and Creative Arts

**Hours/Status**: Permanent full-time

Technology, Food Technology, Technology Mandatory, Visual Arts and STEM.

**General attributes
**The successful applicant will be:

- well qualified in their discipline
- experienced in working across various CAD programs
- up-to-date with 21st century pedagogy
- comfortable with integrating technology, innovation and design thinking in the classroom

**Professional Responsibilities**
- teach Design and Technology Stage 5 (essential) and Stage 6 (preferable)
- teach Technology Mandatory across the design fields of wood, food, graphics and têxtiles
- integrate technology into effective classroom practice
- create and maintain an effective and safe learning environment for students
- demonstrate effective teaching practice which fosters student engagement and facilitates

learning within the area of Design and Technology
**Essential Attributes**:

- A willingness to embrace and enhance the Christian ethos and practice of Meriden, as an

independent Anglican School for girls
- Collaborative skills and an open mind
- A thorough understanding of the NSW Stage 4 Technology Mandatory and Stage 5 Design

and Technology Curriculum
- Experience with the Stage 6 Design and Technology curriculum (preferable)
- An innovative life-long learner

- Displays excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a high level of collaborative

practice
- Positively contributes to and works as an effective team member
