The Science Faculty at St Patrick's College strives to develop students' knowledge, understanding and skills to explain and make sense of the biological, chemical, physical and technological world.
Permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026.
This is a tremendous opportunity for a student nearing completion of their degree (final internship) or a recent graduate who wishes to gain valuable experience working in a well-supported and experienced Science faculty.
You will be committed to the achievement of excellence as a classroom teacher; a strong collaborator; and, confident in effective pedagogy and classroom management. With a thorough content knowledge and mastery of the curriculum, you will be someone who has proven success in delivering the best possible teaching practices and learning experiences.
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate you satisfy all of the following essential selection criteria:
Essential Criteria
- A working understanding of, and commitment to the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition
- Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice
- Qualified to teach Science (Stage 4 and Stage 6) with NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.
- Commitment to excellence as a classroom practitioner.
- Commitment to effective classroom management through clear expectations, proactive behaviour strategies, and fostering a positive learning environment.
- Ability to cater to a diverse range of learning needs through differentiation of curriculum.
- Effectively incorporates ICT into teaching, learning, and assessment to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

A working understanding of, and a commitment to the Catholic ethos of a school in the Edmund Rice tradition, a valid Working with Children clearance and participation in the co-curricular program, are essential conditions of employment.
