Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Senior Risk Analysis and Management Officer on a contract for 6 months with potential extension.

**Job overview**

Risk Analysis and Management professionals may undertake an agency governance and specialist advisory role on risk management practices or may undertake risk management processes for their business area.

Senior Risk Analysis and Management Officers may be part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide advice, or undertake, best practice risk management analysis and support in alignment with agency risk management policies and frameworks. A major aspect of the role is providing advice and support on risk management processes and practices.

Senior Risk Analysis and Management Officers manage and organise their own work in the context of competing priorities, including contributing to business planning, changes in workplace practices and business improvement strategies.

They may manage a small team including setting priorities and managing staff performance.

**Key duties/tasks**

Duties may include some or all of the following:

- draft and provide information to maintain risk policies, plans, frameworks and guidelines
- provide advice and support in relation to analysis, assessment, and monitoring of risks and escalate where appropriate
- critically analyse risks and draw out causes, controls and treatments with key stakeholders
- assist with risk management and assessment activities within an allocated context e.g. strategic, operational and/or program/project
- provide advice and communicate key issues and areas of risk to relevant stakeholders
- identify and extract risk and mitigation data from core business systems and establish the visualisation of data and information to enhance insight into business activity
- assist with the implementation of corrective action plans to mitigate risks
- organise, facilitate and contribute to risk workshops with senior stakeholders, looking for linkages and duplication
- collaborate with stakeholders to develop comprehensive risk profiles for projects and work streams
- provide training and technical support to staff regarding risk management strategies and programs
- prepare and review a range of written material including reports and corporate documentation
- establish and maintain relationships through liaison with internal and external stakeholders
- manage a small team including setting local priorities, managing resources, and assisting with the development of work plans
- manage and support a team including managing performance, attendance, and health and wellbeing
- encourage innovation, manage and lead staff through changes in business and process improvement
- exercise delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines.
