**Position Purpose**

A Lecturer Level B is expected to develop scholarly research outputs and professional activities relevant to
the discipline. This position contributes to the teaching effort of the Discipline through the preparation and
delivery of lectures, tutorials, other types of teaching activities, and supervision of honours and
postgraduate students and is expected to perform a range of administrative and service functions within
the College and across the University.***

**About the Work Area**

The school has excellent teaching and research facilities and comprises around 20 highly qualified staff.
Key Information Technology research strengths, include Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing and
Computer Graphics, Cyber Security and Networking, and Business Information Systems. The School’s
teaching programs build on Murdoch’s vast experience in scientific training and research and provide our
graduates with a lifelong career path.

Position Description
Lecturer Level B

The Information Technology school offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses for future
and existing IT professionals, both in Perth and transnationally in Singapore and Dubai.

The following undergraduate majors are currently offered: Business Information Systems; Computer
Science; Cyber Security and Forensics; Games Technology; Internetworking and Network Security;
Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems. Graduate courses include the Masters of Information
Technology and the Master of Science in Information Technology (each with three streams: Information
Technology Management, Cyber Security and Networking, and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science).

**Key Responsibilities / Duties
1. Contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, including the contribution to the development
of teaching programs, coordinating units offered both locally and transnationally, preparing and
delivering lectures, workshops, and tutorials, and designing assessments and marking.

11. Contribute to the College, the University, the profession, and the discipline.
12. Participate in the University’s Academic Contribution Development Review (ACDR).
13. Undertake such other duties as determined by the Head of Discipline.
