As a result of continued success and trust we are working a multi-national Defence technology organisation as they seek to identify a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineering Manager; within their maritime projects.
In the role of Systems Engineering Manager you will be entrusted to lead, manage and mentor a team of systems engineers to deliver complex engineering solutions for systems and sub-systems. You will hold the relevant authority to manage the systems engineering activities relating systems design and upgrades, change proposals and outputs throughout the engineering lifecycle.
**Key Role Responsibilities**
Establish and execute engineering strategies and associated planning for the project/s for both internal and subcontracted engineering activities
Prepare estimates for engineering activities and equipment
Identify, monitor and mitigate technical technical and project risks
Ensure the project system baselines are maintained
Provide leadership of system analysis and design activities; whilst providing guidance to systems engineers in the analysis of requirements, system design trade-offs, and allocation of requirements to subsystems or software and hardware configuration items
Document and present analysis results in support of project activities
Monitor the development activities of the project to ensure project commitments are being satisfied
Manage and coordinate all aspects of the engineering program
Ensure appropriate review of engineering artefacts are produced by the engineering team
Facilitate the identification and resolution of architectural issues that may impact the project
Define the scope and plan for technical investigations to be undertaken, as required
**Skills & Experience**
Tertiary engineering qualifications (Electronics/Electrical, Mechatronics) or relevant discipline
Experience in Naval Combat Management Systems or Combat Systems (desirable)
Highly demonstrated systems engineering experience, particularly in relating to system requirements elicitation & analysis, system design & development activities and engineering management of multi-discipline teams
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to communicate system engineering process and system development lifecycles
Demonstrated awareness and ability to address whole of system requirements and design issues, including safety and ILS
Demonstrated ability to lead staff within a team environment and to foster cooperation within and between teams
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
Well-developed ability to provide leadership
Must be an Australian Citizen
Must hold a Defence security clearance or be eligible to obtain a Defence security clearance
