**The Role**

As the Deputy Program Director you will be a part of an integrated multi-disciplined workforce and play a key leadership role in the delivery of a multi-billion dollar Navy Capability Program.
This Program enables Navy to communicate, remain cyber secure, achieve superior situational awareness and protect the Navy Fleet from a range of threats.
As part of the Directorate Program Delivery within the Navy Intelligence and Information Warfare (NI&IW) Branch you will:
- Report to the Program Director, act as the lead for the Directorate Program Delivery.
- Be accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes, sharing own expertise with others, mentoring team members to achieve continuous improvement in the Program.
- Build and sustain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and negotiate effectively to deliver business outcomes.
- Be supported by the Program Management Office, oversee program scheduling, activity tracking and performance aspects of the Program.
- Be supported by the Program Management Office, coordinate Program Submission scheduling and progress of actions arising from Defence Senior Committees.
- Regularly prepare and deliver program updates to the Director General NI&IW.
**About Our Team**
Navy Intelligence and Information Warfare (NI&IW) Branch is a highly diverse and capable part of Navy Capability Division.
The nine directorates within NI&IW Branch are focused on delivering the next generation of Intelligence and Information Warfare capabilities that Navy and the broader Defence force require.
NI&IW Branch prides itself on its inclusive and positive work environment.
The Directorate Project Delivery is focused on the management of the Program’s execution. It works closely with Branch Executive, Branch Operations Directorate, the seven capability directorates and delivery partners in Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, Chief Information Officer Group and Australian Signals Directorate to plan, coordinate, assess and progress capability development activities at the Programmatic level.
The Directorate contains the Program Management Office, a mature and integrated Australian Defence Force, Australian Public Service and contracted team with well-established governance and processes.
- Experience with the Capability Development Lifecycle under the One Defence Capability System.
- Experience working in an integrated workforce.
- Demonstrated high level decision making and judgement in order to provide expert advice.
- Outstanding time management and organisational skills and be able to work independently and provide leadership to the teams.
- Demonstrated effective management of competing priorities and strategic directions when achieving team planning and project outcomes in line with agency goals and objectives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and be comfortable engaging and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders while building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships.
Program Management qualifications and / or experience is highly desirable.
