**About the role**

As DevOps Lead, you will front the evolution, enhancement, and adoption of DevOps capabilities across Suncorp’s platforms, driving agility, operational excellence, and platform efficiency. Leading and mentoring a team of DevOps engineers, you’ll design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and scalable, secure infrastructure. Working closely with Agile teams, you’ll embed best practices into the development lifecycle, optimise workflows through automation, and ensure solutions meet high-quality, compliance, and operational standards while aligning with business goals.

**What you'll do**
- Lead delivery of a strategic DevOps roadmap, ensuring prioritisation, resource alignment, and business value
- Champion Agile and DevOps practices, driving a culture of automation, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Oversee CI/CD pipeline maintenance and optimisation, resolving deployment challenges and enhancing delivery speed
- Drive automation and self-service strategies to boost productivity and reduce operational bottlenecks
- Guide improvements in platform monitoring for proactive issue detection and resolution
- Lead, mentor, and upskill the team, fostering innovation, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence

**What you'll bring**
- 5+ years scripting and automation with Python, Shell, JavaScript, Terraform, Ansible, and REST API integrations
- Strong AWS skills: EC2, S3, networking, Kubernetes (EKS), OpenShift (ROSA), and cloud automation
- Experienced in designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Bamboo with Git version control
- Skilled in integrating security, monitoring, and observability tools like Snyk, Fortify, Dynatrace, Splunk, and ServiceNOW
- Familiar with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and automated testing tools to improve delivery pipelines
