**The Role**
This opportunity will see you:
- Assist with the development and implementation of strategies to mature the department’s workforce planning capability, and assist to develop and deliver on workforce planning strategic projects and outcomes.
- Contribute to the provision of advice on workforce analytics and insights to guide the business’s workforce planning activities, strategic agenda and projects;
- Assist with the development and implementation of data and reporting projects that deliver on outcomes;
- Liaise with stakeholders to improve the business’s workforce data capture, analytics and reporting capability;
- Assist with the implementation and development of workforce data analysis methodology, processes, tools; and
- Contribute to large survey and reporting projects (such as the Defence Census) and qualitative data projects.
**About our Team**
The Workforce Data and Insights Team is part of the Workforce Planning and Strategy Team that supports CASG by developing workforce solutions through data insights and strategic workforce projects. Working in partnership across CASG, the Workforce Data and Insights team provides data services and insights that inform strategic and operational workforce management, business priorities, and projects.
The team offers CASG a high level of data expertise and is forward-looking in its focus, as well as providing day to day support in resolving emerging operational issues. The operating environment is diverse and varied, and a high level of consultation is required to identify and address stakeholder needs.
The Department of Defence provides:

- Maintain knowledge of HR policies, practices and systems combined with an understanding of workforce planning and management
- Demonstrate understanding of quantitative and qualitative workforce analysis methods;
- Undertake analysis to provide advice on workforce data including the ability to interpret data to inform HR strategy;
- Engage and communicate with stakeholders and bring a customer service focus to the delivery of workforce data functions
- Demonstrate well-developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience;
- Work collaboratively in a team based environment actively participating in and contributing to team meetings and exchange information to support the work area and team objectives.
