Our client is a specialised global market leader in the world-wide logístical movement’s needs of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and clinical research industries. Expanding their presence in the Asia Pacific Market, they are sourcing an experienced Operations Supervisor who will manage the day-to-day operational functions of the Sydney Branch.

The operations department consists of import, exports, transportation, (both domestic and international) functions. The aim of this position is to ensure all shipments are efficiently processed, recovered and dispatched in time to meet schedules required by the customers. The position includes managing all aspects of operational employees as well as creating workable formal relationships with sub-contractors, handling facilities and maintaining a clear communication line with other departments within the offices and departments.

Reporting to the National Operations Manager, this person will be responsible for:

- Management and supervision of operations and warehouse staff
- Identify areas needed for staff cross-training and development
- Help reduce fixed costs and increasing gross margin working on solutions to establish new cost-efficient routes, negotiating with providers, etc.
- Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of other departments (CS, HR, and Finance), through operational improvements and advanced communication
- Oversee overall operational management, planning, systems and controls.
- Work with the warehouse staff to meet compliance, environmental & security standards

Other essential skills and qualifications are:

- Solid proven background and work experience in International Airfreight Operations
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
- Knowledge on international compliance & security regulations
- Commercially aware and resource focussed
- Career orientated individual

Attractive salary package plus lucrative bonus scheme on offer
