**Position Summary**

To assist Chief Steward to manage the Stewarding Department as an efficient and productive cost centre, by maintaining an organized and clean back-of-house area and by providing all kitchens, outlets and banquets with clean operating equipment, based on expected business levels.

To be an active member to effectively manage the hotel's overall waste management. To communicate and ensure awareness and engagement by all to these initiatives and also to assist with energy and water conservation in all areas.

**The Role**
- To implement and maintain an effective Recycling Program.
- To track detailed waste removal (landfill & recycling) and to enter data monthly into Capella Hotels and Resorts international data bases administrated.
- To attend and participate in the monthly Green Team meeting and to be primarily responsible for driving communication, awareness and engagement about recycling activities at Capella Sydney.
- Liaise with chemical company & cleaning company on all matters surrounding their service.
- Handles all internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
- To ensure waste is disposed regularly in the correct manner.
- To monitor all stewarding operations, especially during peak business periods, assisting and making adjustments where necessary.
- To control stock and par levels in all areas responsible to the Stewarding department.
- Conducts periodic walkthroughs in all areas responsible to the Stewarding department.
- To collect, separate and recycle regularly waste from throughout the hotel including designated back of house lift landing areas and pantries.

**Talent Profile**
- General Education Certificate / Diploma.
- Experiences in similar role at luxury hotels/resort.
- Working knowledge of chemical and cleaning machinery is of advantage.
- HACCP knowledge /Food Safety Program knowledge.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Familiarity with Canva for creating training materials, team communications, or visual content would be advantageous.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Valid working rights in Australia.
