Melbourne, Australia DHSV Oral Health Full time

Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) is partnering with Victorian community and health services to offer opportunities to Dental Assistants to join our public oral health teams.

We have a variety of upcoming roles available in sought-after locations across the state.

We invite you to express your interest in joining the public oral health sector as either an experienced Dental Assistant or as a Dental Assistant Trainee.

**Dental Assistant**

**Are you an experienced Dental Assistant**:

- who provides excellent patient care?
- who is passionate about improving oral health outcomes?
- who wants to be exposed to many different career opportunities?
- who holds a certificate III in Dental Assisting or Certificate in Dental Nursing (Please note: Overseas trained dentists must have a qualification in Dental Assisting from an Australian RTO).

**Dental Assistant trainee**

Kickstart your career in public oral health by joining the Dental Assistant Traineeship Initiative. You will become a Dental Assistant trainee and earn your Certificate III in Dental Assisting in just 12 months - for free.

The traineeship is open to Victorians under the age of 25 or over 45; Aboriginal Victorians; the long-term unemployed; newly arrived migrants from non-English speaking backgrounds; and single parents.

**Why should you work in public oral health?**

A rewarding career in public oral health is a way to improve oral health outcomes for vulnerable Victorians through the provision of high-quality care at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne and community dental agencies across the state.
- We are teaching and learning organisations. You will grow with us as we are focused on your career and your professional development.
- You will make a difference and help to improve the oral health of all Victorians.
- You will have opportunities to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and learn from experienced clinicians.
- We are values-driven and community-centric.

**What’s in it for you?**

Joining public oral health will not only provide you with development opportunities within engaging, inclusive and supportive teams, but you will also have access to a range of benefits, including:

- an exciting range of full and part-time career opportunities
- generous salary packaging (you can get between $9,000 - $15,900 in addition to your take-home pay)
- an excellent work-life balance
- ongoing professional development opportunities
- comprehensive benefits, including paid holidays, flexible working arrangements and staff wellbeing programs.

**Have questions?**

**About DHSV’s diverse and inclusive workforce**

We will provide you with an environment where you can grow and feel like you belong. By building a workforce across Victoria that has inclusive representation at all levels, is proactive in tackling inequality, and represents the diversity of the patients we care for, we will see meaningful and sustainable change.

DHSV is committed to child safety and wellbeing and has zero tolerance for child abuse and harm. We provide an inclusive and welcoming environment where cultural safety for children is promoted and practiced.

DHSV is a public health service and requires employees to be vaccinated in accordance with policies published by the Department of Health and/or public health orders issued by the government.
