It’s an exciting time for tennis in Australia and we have ambitious plans to continue to grow the game from grassroots through to high performance. We are transforming how we deliver tennis, with the aim of making it more accessible, to more people, more often. To help us achieve our plan we are looking for a Tournaments & Competitions Manager (TCM) to join our team at Tennis South Australia on a full time, ongoing basis.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Tournaments & Competitions, this role is responsible for the development, delivery and communication of the Tournaments and Competitions in South Australia. This pathway includes the full spectrum of events to cater for first time junior player through to high level professional players and social players.
In this role you will:
- Assist in developing innovative programs and pathways to ensure Tournaments and Competitions continue to evolve their product offering in line with lifestyle and participation trends
- Work closely with Associations and Clubs to understand their needs regarding competition delivery
- Hold annual workshops with key stakeholders to seek feedback and engage with them on key challenges and future direction
- Ensure a calendar of Tennis SA Events are effectively delivered such as Les Tapp, Country Carnival, Foundation Cup and State League Finals
- Take on the role of Tournament Director of South Australian Pro Tour Events and any local endorsed events as required
- Work with Tournament hosts to engage with local councils and seek sponsorship and event grant opportunities
About you
What you will bring to the role:
- A love of the sport and a strong desire to contribute significantly to the growth of tennis
- Experience in delivering competitions across various platforms (tennis or non-tennis)
- Ability to learn sport specific competition software and systems to create efficient processes
- Exceptional people skills and the ability to demonstrate initiative, prioritise tasks and deal with conflict
- Alignment with the Tennis values of Excellence, Humility, Collaboration and Imagination
- You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
