A fantastic opportunity has become available for a skilled and experienced General Manager of Product and Marketing to work out of our Sunshine Office.
Reporting to the Regional Vice President Australasia, India & Southeast Asia, this position manages and is responsible within the approved company policy for the profitable development and marketing of the company's products and services ensuring that that products are developed, managed, marketed and sold in accordance within agreed strategic objectives to obtain maximum profitability, The position is also a member of the senior leadership team of the company.
**Your areas of responsibility**:
- Develop and execute product management and marketing strategies that drive profitable sales growth and support business goals.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs and preferences and use this information to inform product development decisions.
- Lead the marketing and communication strategy to support a range of products.
- Manage the product and development process from ideation to launch.
- Develop pricing and positioning strategies for product and services.
- Work closely with team to develop and execute channel marketing, channel go-to-market strategies and promotional services.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure product and marketing efforts align with overall business objectives
- Create and implement marketing plans that drive customer acquisition, retention, and engagement.
- Develop and manage marketing budgets, set financial targets, monitor performance and ensure that campaigns are executed on time and within budget.
- Monitor and analyse market trends and adjust product and marketing strategies as necessary.
- People management of team, including recruitment, training and performance.
- Ensure technical services and laboratories meet or exceed quality control standards.
- Drive product innovation, sustainability, and profit optimisation activities.
- Ensure that the company's operations are conducted in an ethical and sustainable manner.
**Performance Indicators**:
- Sales and Contribution Margin development vs Budget and PY.
- Innovation and new product development contribution as % sales (product introduced in the last 2 years).
- Existing product cost and range development - product improvements, cost reduction, or rationalisation.
- New marker or channel growth performance.
- Brand and market share.
- Customer Net Promoter Score - shared with Sales GM's.
- Finished Goods Product Quality (shared with Supply Chain & Operations).
- Right first time (QC Lab) shared with Operations.
- Technical Service customer satisfaction measures.
- Product Information and communication including customer satisfaction measures.
- Achieving sustainability targets.
- Management of Marketing budgets.
**Qualifications we are looking for**:
- Preferred tertiary and postgraduate qualifications in marketing of a related discipline together with a proven record of sound marketing and managerial experience.
- Skills in negotiation, staff motivation and leadership are necessary.
- Requires wide business experience and extensive knowledge of the company's activities, with the ability to innovate and to communicate ideas effectively.
- Maintains a persuasive and credible presentation.
- Experience in a product management and marketing role within a multi-national company.
- Experience with Automotive aftermarket in both trade and retail channels advantageous.
- Experience in developing and optimising sales and marketing systems and processes - driving improvement in sales and marketing productivity and sales lead creation.
- Demonstratable experience in bringing new products to market, and developing new markets with existing products.
- Demonstrated commitment to working within an established code of conduct / ethics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
