**Opportunity**:
We are looking for a Child Care Worker to be joining our dynamic team at Hurstville NSW 2220.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Child Care Workers play the role of supervising the safety, well-being, and development of children in a daycare childhood care setting. In addition to caring for the children, they also supervise them throughout their time at the daycare, ensuring their safety and offering guidance during free play, structured activities, and group interactions.

A significant part of the role involves coordinating and supporting children's participation in various centre programs and general activities by observing and assessing children's progress, communicating with parents about their children's day-to-day experiences, and maintaining a positive and supportive environment that fosters learning, growth, and emotional well-being.

The main the tasks of a Child Care Worker are, but not limited to:

- Design and plan engaging activities and recreational programs for children, ensuring the appropriate materials and resources are prepared for each activity.
- Oversee the execution of recreational programs, guiding and supporting children's participation while fostering an environment conducive to learning and development.
- Supervise children's overall activities in the daycare, ensuring their safety, well-being, and emotional security throughout their stay.
- Promote and maintain the physical, emotional, and social well-being of children during their time in care.
- Deliver educational guidance and instruction tailored to the developmental needs of each child.
- Maintain open communication with parents, providing regular updates and feedback on their child's progress and development.
- Managing between 8 and 20 children per day with your colleague, ensuring the successful implementation of our play-based program.
- Responsible for all room documentation such as program planning, journals, observations, learning stories and contribution to the Quality Improvement Plan.
- Implement together with working colleagues the educational program involving planning and implementing learning experiences to promote children's development, evaluating, and keeping appropriate records.
- Liaise and consult with parents and the local community to further their involvement with the Centre.

**Skills Required**:

- Sound understanding of child development and play-based learning approaches.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, including the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in documenting and assessing children’s learning.
- Enthusiastic about early childhood education and committed to fostering children's development.
- Collaborative and able to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Organised, adaptable, and proactive in addressing challenges.

**Education and Previous Experience Required**:

- Tertiary education in Child Care field or co-related field.
- At least 1 year of full-time working experience in the same field or co-related field. Experience in developing and implementing educational programs in line with the EYLF.
- Current Working with Children Check (or equivalent).
- First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certifications.
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination (if required by legislation or the centre).

**Working Arrangements**:

- Work Type: Full-time & Permanent
- Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8 hours shift
- Shifts: From Mondays to Fridays, 7:20am to 6pm
- Salary: $76,983 per year plus superannuation
