**Join the NSW Department of Education as a Principal Publisher (Clerk Grade 11/12)**

We are excited to announce an opening for a Principal Publisher within our Curriculum directorate.
- Location: Parramatta, with some access to various NSW Education offices and flexible working arrangements available
- Salary: Clerk Grade 11/12 with base salary ranging from $149,739 to $173,174 per annum, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
- Temporary full time appointment up to 4 years, with possibility of extension or conversion to ongoing

**About the Curriculum directorate**

The Curriculum directorate is responsible for supporting the implementation of policies and design of high-quality evidence-based resources and tools to support curriculum implementation across P-12. We coordinate special programs, and we lead the department’s response to the NSW Curriculum Reform.

**About the role**

This role leads and manages workstreams that deliver high quality print and electronic publications, supporting effective curriculum implementation, and which are consistent with departmental and legislative requirements. The role is required to deliver, monitor and evaluate a portfolio of functions and to facilitate the successful achievement of workstream, team, directorate and organisational objectives.

**About you**

You are an experienced editorial and digital content leader with a proven ability to deliver high-quality print and web-based publications that meet complex government and legislative requirements. You bring deep expertise in editorial standards, accessibility compliance across multiple content formats and stakeholder-focused content delivery. With strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, you excel at managing multiple interconnected workstreams to deliver high standard outputs, meeting departmental and legislative obligations. Your collaborative, solutions-focused approach enables you to balance competing priorities, build high-performing teams, and provide strategic advice that advances organisational goals in dynamic and fast-paced environments. You actively engage in positive, cohesive leadership with senior members of the team and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

**Key knowledge and experience**:

- Understanding of and experience with educational contexts pre-school to Year 12
- Ability to inspire and lead a team to meet the objectives of the team, unit, directorate and organisation
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

**Essential requirements**:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
- Hold a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment (or willing to acquire one)
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
