The opportunity:
This role is not your normal Health and Safety role. While the core of the role is about ensuring we meet our obligations, that robust policy and systems are in place to ensure the safety and well-being of our team.
Our vision is to support our team with a more holistic offer with a substantial focus on mental well-being. A key differentiator for the role is to replicate the complete health and wellbeing offer we provide to our customers across our entire employee population.
In this role your immediate focus will be:
- Proactively manage work injury processes and workers compensation claims in line with the current legislation across the different states- Provide specialist advice to management on contemporary workplace health initiatives, programs, emerging risks and injury/illness management- Execute on our wellbeing strategy including planning and execution of wellbeing activities reflecting for all our employees the business purpose to live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.- Educate leaders regarding their role and responsibilities in ensuring the health and wellbeing of our employees, inspiring and driving cultural change at all levels- Design and implement the Safety and Well Being service model including capability uplift for our people advisory team- Maintain safety and well being policies and procedures and practices
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent- Expert knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation, Workers Compensation legislation and regulations and WorkSafe guidelines and codes of practice.- Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of comprehensive OH&S plans, policies and reporting for both insight and governance, preferably within a professional service environ- Proven experience in incident investigation, managing workers compensation claims, premium administration and return to work processes- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and managing competing priorities- Well-developed ability to engage and respond to multiple and diverse stakeholders- Able to communicate clearly and persuasively verbally and in written form using appropriate data- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
