**As Manager, Youth Detention Communications, you will specifically:
Lead and manage the delivery of a comprehensive suite of communication services, including internal communications, stakeholder engagement, issues management, website content development and maintenance and strategic communications specific to youth detention service delivery.
Oversee the development, delivery and evaluation of communication plans, projects and activities in line with resource allocations, ensuring liaison and consultation with key internal and external stakeholders.
Provide timely responses and advice to complex media enquiries, working in collaboration with the Department's media team
Work seamlessly with the Department's media team and other stakeholders, providing leadership where appropriate to ensure alignment between agreed key messages and content across platforms.
Prepare original submissions, briefs, reports and correspondence of a complex nature relating to communication issues.
Ensure communication materials comply with departmental governance processes, whole-of-government policies and regulatory requirements as well as editorial and visual style guidelines as appropriate.
Develop and maintain effective relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrate cultural capability, communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and ensure communication messages and materials uphold and promote respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Support and comply with workplace health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal employment opportunity principles and practices.
Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
