**Position Overview**
Based in the NNTT’s Brisbane Office, the role forms part of the Business Support team, which provides project and administrative support to the President, Registrar, Members and staff to assist with performing their specific functions and responsibilities under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth). The team also builds and maintains productive relationships with stakeholders and identifies and develops strategies to improve accessibility to NNTT services.

To be successful in this role, the Business Support Officer will have excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. They must be flexible and adaptable to a variety of tasks that arise in response to project work and be willing to learn and adapt to new procedures. Skills in database and records management, combined with careful attention to detail, are essential.

Working as part of a team, this role would suit someone with a high level of professionalism and initiative, who takes personal responsibility to ensure objectives are met.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Office administration
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail.
- Maintain office supplies/equipment and report any issues requiring attention.
- Maintain the currency of stakeholder information and subscriber details.

2. Administrative support to statutory officeholders
- Provide administrative support to the President, Tribunal Members and the Registrar.
- Manage records in compliance with information management policies.
- Undertake other tasks as required.

3. Project work
- Provide support to the Project Coordinators on specific projects as they are involved with.
- Perform validation and testing of new business systems, as required and under direction.
- Undertake database analysis and audit activities, as required and under direction.

No formal qualification required.

**Selection Criteria**
- Possess and demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Possess and demonstrate an ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Strong client-service focus and proven experience in providing front line client services.
- Proven office administration experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
- Proven initiative and adaptability, including the ability to work with mínimal supervision and as an effective member of a team.

**Eligibility**
- Australian citizenship - the successful applicant must hold Australian citizenship.
- Security and character clearance - the successful applicant must satisfy a Police Records Check and may also be required to complete security clearances during the course of their employment.
