The Australian National Maritime Museum is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manager, Social Media to join our Brand and Marketing team in this full-time, ongoing Executive Level 1 position.

The Manager, Social Media is responsible for the management of the Museum's social media channels including both organic and paid publishing schedules and content plans. This role involves showcasing the Museum's collections and activities, growing audiences for exhibitions, programs and digital initiatives, enhancing the Museum's presence on social platforms, experimenting new products and ideas, staying informed of platform developments, advising and training stakeholders throughout the Museum, providing analytical insights and driving revenue and awareness.
**Key Accountabilities**
Under broad direction, this position is responsible for delivering the following functions:
- Develop and implement social media content strategy and creation that includes, ideation, planning, copywriting, and the production of video and photographic content to deliver informative and engaging communications about the Museum's exhibitions, programs and digital initiatives.
- Develop and implement new ideas and strategies to increase the Museums audience and online engagement.
- Communicate Museum content clearly and accurately and ensure it is suited to audiences, optimised for channels aligning with the Museum's brand.
- Manage the day-to-day operations, monitoring and community management of the Museum's social media accounts (both organic and paid) to provide exceptional service to online audiences.
- Monitoring and analysis of conversation themes and sentiment to optimise content ensuring community engagement.
- Lead development and ongoing analysis of strategies, content plans, policies, guidelines and best practice standards aligned with the Museum's brand to continually improve social media channels.
- Responsible for providing reports and analysis of statistics to refine and optimise social media, digital communications and digital marketing initiatives.
- Provide training, editorial oversight and ongoing support for other social media account managers, to ensure guideline compliance and alignment with the Museum's brand.
**Selection Criteria**
- 3-5 years' experience in written communication - producing social media content, adhering to tone of voice.
- Excellent working knowledge of current social media content concepts, developments and technologies.
- Demonstrable interpersonal skills, working with multiple stakeholders in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience managing social media communities, researching trends, insights and scheduling platforms.
- Excellent visual communication skills, including video production, editing, photography and content design.
**Qualifications and/or relevant experience required**
**Mandatory**:
- A minimum of 3 years working within a social media management role.
**Desirable**:
- Knowledge and/or appreciation of working in a Cultural Heritage organisation.
- Experience using Meltwater insights and account scheduling platform or similar.
- Photography and video editing skills and experience with the Adobe suite and Canva.
- Experience with a Digital Asset Management system, such as Fotoware.
