**About the Division
The Resilience and Recovery Division provides leadership, direction and advice to agencies and stakeholders to ensure Queensland's disaster recovery and resilience policies and programs reduce risk, increase resilience and improve preparedness for disasters.
About the Team
The Hazard and Risk unit leads the development of the disaster risk management approach in Queensland, by ensuring government and communities have access to scientifically informed, reliable hazard and risk information, management processes and products that is fit for purpose and supports integrated disaster risk reduction and management practice. The unit consists of Flood Risk Management, Geographical Information Systems and Disaster Risk Management teams.
About the Role
Provide expert knowledge and technical input into programs being delivered by the FRM team, including the Strategic Floodplain Management Plan implementation, flood risk management funded packages, flood awareness and capability building projects, implementation of the Queensland Flood Risk Management Framework (QFRMF), and Flood Warning Infrastructure Network programs and projects.
Develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with external stakeholders, particularly local governments, and other state agencies.
Provide expert advice and technical oversight on a range of queries, emerging matters, policy and correspondence.
Lead the program planning, monitoring and reporting of FRM projects ensuring project eligibility, risk management, monitoring and delivery against funding guidelines and reporting requirements to ensure key milestones are achieved across projects.
Coordination of correspondence and reporting accountabilities for the FRM team, including project reporting and development of communications for a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Procure and manage contracts where required to support deliverables for complex projects.
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver strategic and operational objectives by modelling collaborative relationships and a high-performance workplace culture.
Lead and model a performance development culture by participating in regular one on ones with your direct reports, your colleagues and through the implementation of performance and development plans for QRA.
This role leads a team of 10 with 5 direct reports and reports to the Director, Hazard and Risk.
QRA's workforce is agile and ready to respond quickly to support disaster priorities. You may have the opportunity to undertake other temporary duties or work in alternative locations to support impacted communities.
