**Your new company**

Our client is one of the largest public sector authorities which provides community services and facilities to a growing population. They are seeking for a Flood management officer that can provide safe and sustainable roads and waterways infrastructure planning.

**Your new role**

As the flood management officer, you will provide high quality and timely professional advice and customer service in regard to flood risk and stormwater management to internal and external customers. You will be required to do site inspections to resolve minor flood or stormwater management issues. You will participate in the development and delivery of community engagement and consultation strategies and activities to support the release of flood mapping or flood policy changes.

Other more responsibilities
- Coordination and meetings with stakeholders
- Promote information and knowledge sharing between neighbouring local governments and BOM regarding flood risk and flood warning
- Active involvement before, during and after potential or realised regional and local flood emergencies

**What you'll need to succeed**

Ideally you have knowledge/ experience in using GIS systems to enable the derivation of flood information from spatial datasets. Moreover, you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Additionally, you have written, verbal, and presentation skill to work effectively with stakeholders. Lastly, you have a current “C” class drivers’ licence and able to participate in after-hours on call-duties.
