Great opportunity for a Junior Flood officer/flood engineer to join an established team. **Your new company** Our client is a public sector Authority located on the south side of Brisbane. They are looking to engage a Flood Management officer to join the Road Infrastructure Planning Branch. This role reports to the River and Catchment Engineering Program Leader, while providing high quality professional advice and customer service in regard to flood risk and storm water management. **Your new role** In this role, you will be providing high technical advice to internal and external stakeholders in regard to flood risk and storm water management. This includes site inspections to resolve minor issues. As well as: - Interpret relevant legislation, regulations, Australian Standards, Planning Scheme provisions, technical guidelines, easement/infrastructure agreements, technical drawings, industry practices notes, manuals and other publication - Maintain knowledge of available Council datasets and flood risk provisions - Participate in the development and delivery of community engagement and consultation strategies and activities - Participate in the determination of best practice flood risk and storm water management by researching and analysing changes and improvements **What you'll need to succeed** To succeed in this role, you will need demonstrated communication skills, including, written, verbal and presentation skills. Also: - Sufficient proficiency in the use of GIS systems to enable the derivation of flood information from spatial datasets - Possession of a current "C" class driving licence **What you'll get in return** Our client is offering around $36 an hour, with an initial contract until the end of February.
