**About the Role**

We have an excellent opportunity to join City of Ryde on a temporary 2 year basis as a Strategic Planner

In this role you will assist in the development and implementation of Council's strategic planning policy framework and programs. Your work will involve reviewing and updating Council's Local Strategic Planning Statement, Local Housing Strategy, Local Environmental Plans and Development Control Plans, assessing planning proposals and supporting senior City Places staff in the delivery of key projects such as masterplans and planning policy. Additionally, your role will provide advice to other teams within Council regarding strategic planning matters.

**About You**

You bring to this position excellent verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to relay complex information to a broad range of stakeholders. You have sound analytical, problem solving and investigative skills and are excited to help shape the future of the City of Ryde.

In addition, you will also have:

- Degree level qualifications in Urban/Town Planning with some previous experience in a planning context, Statutory Planners are also welcome to apply
- Knowledge and understanding of the NSW planning system, particularly the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and associated legislation
- Sound written communication skills with the ability to prepare specialist reports and related planning documents
- Collaborative team focus

Your commencing annual salary will range from **$77,004 to $84,517 + Superannuation, **dependent on your experience and qualifications.
