**About the role**

National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for an Assistant Technical Officer Systems to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.

The Assistant Technical Officer role provides technical coordination and accurate help desk support to users of Elements (NPWS Incident Management and Hazard Reduction planning system) and other fire and incident systems. The role assists with testing system changes and gathering feedback from users to report back to broader technical team. The role also assists with Elements maintenance tasks, data management, module configuration, support documentation and training.

**About You**

To be successful in the role, you will:

- Provide technical coordination, support and training to staff as required using fire and incident systems.
- Have experience with troubleshooting system issues with the team and maintain accurate records in JIRA and Confluence platforms.
- Search for new and innovative solutions to problems, always striving to save time and resources, and streamline processes.
- Be an active and approachable team member whilst fostering an inclusive ‘can do’ attitude.
- Provide good customer service, direction, advice, and resources to support on ground works.

**Essential Requirements**
- Experience in analysis, identification, collection and input of data to maintain accurate and comprehensive records across multiple data sets within a distributed workforce.
- Experience in a systems-related help-desk environment.
- Understand spatial concepts and experience with using spatial data in Geographic Information Systems.
- Demonstrated experience in training users that have limited exposure to software product usage.
- Ability to travel throughout NSW, fly in light aircraft and hold a current Australian driver’s licence.
