**About the Department**
In Other Serious Chronic Diseases (OSCD), we aim to create a strong presence by building a competitive pipeline and scientific leadership. Our focus will be on non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and New Therapy Areas such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), cardiovascular (CVD), inflammation and Alzheimer’s disease.
It is an exciting time to join Novo Nordisk and achieve our strategic aspirations to establish global presence in the treatment of NASH. We’re a dynamic company in an even more dynamic industry, and we know that what got us to where we are today is not necessarily what will make us successful in the future.
**The Position**
As Medical Advisor, you are responsible for the planning and execution of the local medical strategy for the development of the NASH therapy area. You will be instrumental in the identification and segmentation of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) relevant to the NASH therapy area and develop engagement plans, including obtaining expert advice to guide local decisions and strategy. This position will report to the Senior Director, Clinical, Medical, Regulatory & Pharmacovigilance and be a member of the affiliate Clinical Development, Medical & Regulatory Affairs (CMR) team.
You will draft and adapt a global publication plan with regard to local needs and regulations. You will also liaise with relevant professional associations, including congress activities in support of Novo Nordisk’s presence in the NASH area.
You will provide guidance and training internally to assist capability building, giving support to clinical operations in the execution of clinical trials in NASH. Additionally, assist NASH studies in geographies where medical resources are not available.
You will seek opportunities and advice to obtain understanding of the market and patient pathways within NASH in support of internal medical and commercial business decisions and scientific development of NASH area.
Close collaboration with medical and commercial colleagues in obesity to ensure strategic alignment and synergy of NASH within obesity is key to success.
**Qualifications**
You are an MD with a minimum 2 years’ experience in the field of metabolic medicine (diabetes, obesity, CVD, dyslipidaemia), either from the pharmaceutical industry, medical practice, or academia.
You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical affairs in the pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous.
You have an in-depth understanding of the role of medical affairs in pharmaceutical industry, medical affairs tools, and activities. You can connect medical affairs and commercial priorities and are able to work with cross-functional stakeholders.
You have excellent medical communication skills. You are driven, can take initiative, and are agile in your actions. Your personality is aligned with our Novo Nordisk Way, and you are fluent in both written and spoken English.
You must either be an Australian Citizen or have a current residency Visa to live and work in Australia.
