**The Company**
Our client is a globally recognised R&D crop protection player, developing and selling proprietary branded products and innovative biologicals for sustainable agricultural crop protection.
Seen as true leaders in their field, you would be joining a well-recognised and established team of experienced technical and sales. You will be rewarded for being already recognised in the field as a technically driven Research and Product Development specialist, with an in-depth understanding of crop protection trials and analysis.
**The role**
It is expected that you will conduct numerous small plot replicated trials that will be required to be presented up to APVMA standard each year. These would cover the full range of horticultural and broadacre crops grown in this area with the emphasis on performing them close to home where possible.
In addition there will be various contract trials conducted in this area that you will oversee.
From the knowledge gained from these activities it is expected that you will compose or assist in APVMA Efficacy and Safety submissions.
The balance of your time would be also spent in technical support and product development activities such as grower demonstration trials and field days planned and conducted in conjunction with sales and marketing teams.
**Responsibilities**
- Conduct replicated field trials in broadacre and horticulture crops
- Write trial reports with statistical analysis to APVMA submission standard within reasonable time frame
- Negotiate with farmers and agronomists to find and manage trial sites to obtain pest and disease data
- Interact with Dept Ag, CSIRO, University researchers, RDC and customer technical staff to ensure a good flow of information and cooperation
- Provide technical support to sales and marketing personnel and distribution agronomists
- In consultation with sales and marketing teams conduct grower demonstration trials and field days and assist with composition of marketing material
- Look for and develop opportunities to better position products in IPM programs
- Build your own personal profile as a technical leader within the ag industry
**Requirements**:
- Agricultural Science Degree (completed)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a researcher/agronomist in subtropical and temperate broadacre and horticulture
- Familiar with statistical computer programs with the ability to analyse and interpret field data
- Enjoy field work and able to link theoretical with practical
- Ability to help review and build technical marketing material
- Good report writing skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent at managing time independently and efficiently
- Able to handle agricultural equipment (incl. quad bike, trailer, tractor and implements) and chemicals safely
- Agsafe accredited
**Location and Remuneration**
- Location is flexible within the region of Southern QLD and NNSW.
- A highly attractive package will be negotiated in-line with experience + FMV + bonus + commissions
