We are currently seeking a driven and empathetic **Safer Communities Coordinator** to join us at our PCYC Toowoomba Youth Club. The Safer Communities Coordinator (SCC) will deliver a range of existing PCYC crime prevention programs and activities to young people in their local community. In conjunction with management the SCC may also research, prepare, develop and evaluate programs and activities to meet the identified crime prevention needs of the local community. **Your New Role**

Reporting to the Youth Club Manager and Safer Communities Program Manager, you will deliver a range of existing PCYC crime prevention programs and activities to young people in their local community. While reporting is a part of the position, your primary focus is engaging with the community and encouraging participation on the program. **About You**
- Minimum Diploma of youth work or relevant qualification in the area of practice, or equivalent level experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in crime prevention or social and community sector programs
- Strong demonstrated ability to engage with young people is required and a background in trauma-informed practice is desirable
- Ability to work in a culturally appropriate manner within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Hold a light rigid driver’s licence and a Restricted Drivers' Authority (or ability to obtain)

**Please note**:Working With Children Check (Blue Card) No Card, No Start and Restricted Person legislation applies. **It is a mandatory requirement for all PCYC employees to have received the prescribed number of doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.** All PCYC employees are required to complete a National Police Check upon commencement.
