The Assurance Lead plays a critical role in providing assurance to management that the organisation's operations and services meet statutory and regulatory obligations. This key position is responsible for overseeing adherence to the Compliance Management framework, coordinating the internal audit function, performing assurance reviews and supporting Board subcommittees.

In this role you will work closely with senior leadership and business stakeholders to maintain an effective control environment, enhance operational efficiency, and mitigate potential compliance risks, while fostering a culture of accountability and transparency within Barwon Water.

Your insights will be crucial, as you communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and impactful way. You will work proactively to develop strong relationships across Barwon Water and deliver value through our internal audit partners.

This role is a secondment backfill until July 2025 and will be engaged by a third party agency.

**About you**

You are a strategic leader who is responsible for overseeing and implementing assurance processes within a complex organization. Your remit will cover ensuring compliance with regulatory and government legislation and internal frameworks and policy.

With expertise in auditing, compliance and corporate governance you will work closely with diverse stakeholders and influence outcomes by identifying areas for improvement, drive performance enhancements, and maintain high-quality standards across projects and services

Your qualifications in audit, compliance, governance, risk management or similar will be valuable in this complex and busy role, but you will be supported by a close knit and multifaceted team, and your experience in a fast paced setting will put you in a position to succeed.
