**The opportunity**:
The Head of Business Services Risk is a key leadership role withing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), reporting directly to the CRO AMP Limited, and sitting on the ERM strategic leadership team. The role provides oversight and challenge related activities to the Business Services functions (particularly Technology and Finance due to their complexity).
ERM’s vision is to be a fit for purpose 2nd line risk function that influences effective risk aware decision making; is an advocate for considered risk taking; advises on emerging risks; provides insights and analysis on risk posture and improves regulator relations.
**How you will make an impact**:
- Provide risk and compliance related services to the Business Services functions, including but not limited to operational risk, compliance, RMF review and challenge, strategic review and change oversight
- Lead a team of oversight and challenge 2nd line risk and compliance partners to the Business Services teams with a view to developing and enhancing a high-performance team culture of accountability
- Provide relevant and pertinent risk and compliance reporting to relevant stakeholders, in respect of existing and emerging risks
- Enable senior management to optimise return on risk, prevent concentration of risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Provide appropriate oversight and challenge of the Business Services functions Risk Management Frameworks, including Risk Appetite Statement, Risk Management Strategy, and relevant risk profiles
- Managing development of relevant control frameworks to address regulatory change requirements relevant to the Business Services functions
- Managing roll out of relevant Group policies to the Business Services functions
- Manage operational risk components relevant to the Business Services functions, including controls assurance oversight, control framework testing oversight and incident and breach closure oversight
- Manage compliance framework oversight relevant to the Business Services functions, including Compliance Plans, as well as the Line 2 oversight of the roll out of the Processes, Obligations, Risks and Controls program to the Platforms compliance framework
- Represent ERM in Business Services Incidents & Breaches assessments and legislative / regulatory change impacts (including projects). This also includes supporting Policy reviews and compliance with all certificates/reports on periodic basis.
- Managing relevant conflicts
- Champion the implementation of the 3 Line of Defence Model, building capabilities and efficient risk management
- SME involvement on key change projects
**What you will bring to the role**:
- 10 years' minimum experience in Risk and Compliance and/or Audit
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Law or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required
- Experience in second line risk partnering required, with operational and compliance risk management in technology and finance
- Good understanding of Technology development and maintenance, project management and agile delivery models, Client Services/Operations environments, system related processes and business process management
- Good understanding of Finance functions and specialised finance areas of expertise (e.g. tax, treasury, operations, reporting, consolidation, third-party risk)
- Experience in leadership and management in a team environment to deliver on key strategic and operational goals, and a track record in involvement with high performing teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of the financial services industry, relevant regulators (e.g. ASIC, APRA), and current and proposed financial services regulatory and legislative requirements, including Corporations Law; ASIC Regulatory Guides; APRA Standards etc
- Strong knowledge of and experience with enterprise risk management in a financial services environment, including risk and compliance management frameworks, regulatory risk and compliance methodologies, policies, and practices, with demonstrated ability in adding value in providing these services
- Excellent understanding of the broader regulatory and economic environment in which AMP operates
- Experience in successfully achieving organisation change and influencing senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Demonstrated ability to think, plan and act strategically and commercially
- Experience coordinating and writing risk or audit reports and interacting with senior management and Board of Directors
