Sustainability Officer

An exciting opportunity currently exists for a Sustainability Officer to join the Sustainability Unit. The Sustainability Unit includes the Waste Services Team.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Work with clinical staff and waste team to identify waste reduction, recycling and resource efficiency initiatives.
- Support individual departments/clinical areas with sustainability initiatives
- Act as liaison between Sustainability and clinical areas.
- Support the development and delivery of initiatives to improve Austin Health’s environmental and sustainability performance.
- Assist Austin Health to meet environmental targets.
- Assist Austin Health to meet organisational regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Contribute to initiatives and programs that result in sustainability cost savings, maximising efficiency and effectiveness and elevating staff awareness and education.
To be successful in the role you must demonstrate:
- Experience in supporting teams to deliver outcomes.
- Ability to influence change
- Demonstrated high standard of written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with staff at all levels.
- Knowledge and understanding of environmental sustainability including waste.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable but not essential is:
- Experience in graphic design software tools such as In-design.
- Clinical background
- Experience in facilitation or program design
