**The Opportunity**
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Network connections expert to join our Network business unit at Transgrid in the role of Team Lead Network Connections.
As the Lead you will represent the Network Planning group within industry and complete technical reports or presentations for internal and external stakeholders coupled with the development and implementation of power systems analysis strategies and network connections, working closely with industry stakeholders and figureheads.
Reporting into our Manager Network Connections** **you will be responsible for leading a team of Network Connections specialists. You will be an industry specialist in network connections leading technical responses on generator performance standards, generator commissioning, high voltage transmission system developments and network connections for Transgrid and third-party customers
You will be adaptable and comfortable working in a changing environment with an ability to be flexible and take on challenges with finesse and ease. You will be passionate and driven with extensive experience in your field helping you build credibility quickly with your stakeholders.
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- Professional qualified and registered engineer (e.g., CPEng, RPEQ)
- Extensive experience in leading generator connection projects.
- Excellent knowledge on Electrical Engineering principles, NER, GPS and associate technical assessments, generator protection, SCADA, and experience in generation, transmission, or similar role
- Experience with PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory software and power system modelling experience will be an advantage
- Communicate effectively with a range of persons including customers, suppliers, contractors, other technical experts, and senior management (written and verbal).
- Substantial experience in the legislation and technical standards guiding system planning
- Comprehensive understanding of risk management - qualitative and quantitative
- Excellent knowledge of electrical networks engineering and operations.
- Well-developed people and service management skills.
- Industry renowned knowledge of the National Electricity Market and its impact on operations of the NSW HV network and Transgrid’s business
- Comprehensive knowledge of the energy industry
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles and experience with working in accordance with a Quality Assurance System.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
- Postgraduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline **(Desirable)**
