Lead Environment Manager

**Position Purpose**
Leads a team of technical specialist to ensure environments are provisioned and maintained to agreed service levels. Works with projects and the Manager, Non-Production Environment Services to ensure the appropriate pre-production and production environments are provided to an agreed timeline and budget for what they require. Documents and manages environment management processes across all services, suppliers and customers. Provides (and co-ordinates as necessary) 2nd and 3rd line environments support (internal technology groups and external vendors) to fix complex or severe incidents and problems that have been escalated. Leads improvement and efficiency programs to achieve streamlined delivery, cost reduction and maximum availability of environments.
**Major Accountabilities**
**Strategy Execution and Customer**
- Accountable and responsible for the leadership, support and direction of 5-10 staff within the Non-Production Environment team and capability, driving best practice and service value to all stakeholders.
- Providing Strategic Direction and Thought Leadership to evolve the services and tools in line with strategic business direction, agility in delivery and leveraging technology advancements. Leads innovation initiatives and implements process improvements for methods, tools, and standards
- Deliver operational activities across the various environments that the group services and supports to achieve the strategic objectives of the organisation
- Resource management of the team to maximise productivity
- Define and deliver a Continuous Improvement Roadmap for the Environment Management team to ensure service value to the technology and business teams, delivering increased efficiency and quality. Works with the Non-Production Environment Services team and key stakeholders to define Non-Production Environment Strategy and influences subsidiaries Non-Production strategies.
- Ensures sufficient consideration of customer needs and customer experience targets, as driven by business requirements
- Provisioning of Non-Production Environments for all landscapes across all portfolios, including vendor liaison for project, minor works and BAU across Technology to ensure the delivery of exceptional quality services.
- Supports the organisation’s evolution to Cloud Hosted platforms, defining the optimal solutions to provision environments in the most timely and cost-effective manner
- Implements an effective refresh, deployment, monitoring, test data management and reporting framework across the environments, leveraging automation to maximise efficiency
- Maintains a register of infrastructure, software, versions, licenses, environment levels and architecture documentation pertaining to non-production environments which is current and accurate
- Provide Non-Production Environment governance including delivery, policy, effective risk and stakeholder management, with responsibility of managing and mitigating environment related issues and risks
- Ensures activities are performed in accordance with established policies, processes and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining and improving services capability to meet SLA’s, project timelines, and cost savings.
- Ensure incident, problem, change and conflict management for Non-Production environments are adhered to.
- Responsible for documentation of systems and processes, including functional and technical documentation to keep knowledge repositories current to mitigate risk of knowledge loss.
- Prepares and monitors estimations, schedules, strategies and project reports for specific group of technologies across all portfolios. Implements and adheres to an effective cost recovery model and reporting framework.
- Supports the Manager, Non-production environment services to build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders, project teams and business units to promote visibility and acceptance of the department’s services and value.
- Maintains awareness of current Information Security standards and ensures all activities comply with the standards
**Financial (e.g. budget expenditure, revenue, lending authority, profit targets etc.)**
- Provides input into the development of relevant budgets and forecasts within guidelines.
- Tracks, manages, reports and re-baselines allocated Non Production Environment budgets.
- Drives reduction in cost by implementing process and tool efficiencies.
