**The Role**
We are seeking STEM individuals keen to make a real impact in the delivery of Innovation Science and Technology (IS&T) Programs. You will have the opportunity to use both your science and technology expertise and your project management knowledge to lead some of the most interesting Programs supporting the Defence of Australia. There are a number of positions available across a range of program areas.

The Deputy Program Leader (DPL) will be responsible to the respective Program Leader or leading a program, and will work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, to successfully lead the coordination and management of a program.

In these roles, you will be responsible for:

- Contributing to the development of an IS&T Program Strategy.
- Creating the IS&T Program’s delivery plans by consulting with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Working across teams to define the Program’s milestones, resources, risks and associated projects and work packages.
- Monitoring, and reporting on the Program’s delivery, risks, governance, communications, budget and benefits realised.
- Identifying and resolving issues as they arise to ensure quality IS&T outcomes are achieved to time and budget.
- Acquiring support for successful delivery of Program projects and work-packages (this includes: governance, assurance, legal, security, ICT, and safety).
- Identifying and negotiating suitable technology transition pathways to help drive innovation.
- Maintaining and fostering partnerships with clients, academia, and other organisations nationally and internationally.

**There are a number of Deputy Program Leader (DPL) roles available. Therefore, we are seeking individuals with strong IS&T leadership skills, relevant science & technology expertise and project management experience, to lead a program or projects in the following Programs**:
**Deputy Program Leader Land Autonomy**
The Deputy Program Leader Land Autonomy is responsible for leading the stakeholder facing Autonomy S&T program in the Land Domain. They will have a comprehensive understanding of the stakeholder requirements for Land RAS S&T, and will recognise priorities and transpose these into the science/technology context. Using high level liaison and negotiation skills, the Deputy Program Leader will gain agreement to S&T outcomes for Army recognising these outcomes will also transfer across many of the other Land Domain Programs, notably Land Combat Vehicles, the Enabled Soldier and Long Range Precision Fires.

**Deputy Program Leader Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance**
Deputy Program Leader Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance will provide scientific leadership and program management to the DSTG Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance, Innovation and Science & Technology (Innovation and S&T) Program. The Australian Defence Force (ADF) Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise will deliver Defence capability to enhance Australia’s self-reliance and supply chain resilience with a longer-term goal of developing in-country guided weapons manufacturing capability. The DSTG GWEO program will provide leadership of the enterprise R&D capability element as well as delivering S&T over the GWEO capability lifecycle and other elements important in building the enterprise.

**Deputy Program Leader Health & Logistics**
The Deputy Program Leader Health and Logistics, is responsible for leading a client-focused S&T program of work leveraging national and international partnerships in support of Joint Health Command (JHC) and Joint Logistics Command (JLC). The Deputy Program Leader will have developed a reputation for excellence in a specific field of S&T, have extensive experience, awareness and knowledge across a broad range of science applied to Defence and have well developed skills in relevant aspects of Portfolio, Program and Project Management (P3M).

The team is responsible for understanding the highest priority S&T problems and challenges across the relevant Defence stakeholders and developing an integrated, balanced S&T program to address these challenges.
