Payroll Officer

The Payroll Officer role is primarily responsible for the processing of all payroll obligations for 400+ employees, both domestically and internationally, including:

- Monthly and fortnightly payroll processing
- Maintenance of Employee Leave Entitlements
- Processing of Superannuation, Taxation and Health Care
- Assisting with Employee queries

**The key responsibilities of the role include**:

- End-to-end processing of fortnightly and monthly payroll in accordance with the company's policies and procedures and in line with taxation and jurisdiction requirements
- Coordinate with the People and Culture team to enable smooth and accurate onboarding and off boarding of employees
- Competency in EBA and award interpretations
- Adhere to payroll related queries and manage the payroll query inbox
- Liaising with external stakeholders, including international payroll providers and government bodies
- Processing of salary packaging arrangements, including annual performance bonuses
- Accurate preparation of workers' compensation returns, payroll tax returns and Pay as You Go Taxation reconciliations
- Assist in the processing of month end journals for all payroll related transactions
- Assist in the reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts for payroll liabilities for month end reporting
- Ensure strict adherence to internal controls and procedures
- Ad hoc payroll work as required

About you

- Certificate in Payroll Administration or Administration
- At least 3 years' experience with high volume processing within a payroll environment
- Knowledge of legislative requirements including PAYG, Superannuation and payroll tax, etc.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping principles
- Highly detail-oriented in approach to processing payroll activities
- Ability to work effectively in a team and respond cooperatively to the requirements of other company members
- Good interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for continuous improvement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills when dealing with stakeholders
- Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to operate and plan in a rapidly changing environment
